Its time to move on, and here is why. I have been in several of those situations. I have even sent pictures ahead of time, and still we go out and have a good time, and i dont hear from them again. There are times that i have done the same myself. I have met someone who i wasnt interested in, but still hung out because i didnt want to be an asshole and walk away. I of course then didnt talk to them after. So usually when you meet someone from online, its either a hit or miss. I have found that alot of girls arnt going to just shut the door if they dont like you. They may think friendship is possible, or they have a hard time being mean. As far as her opening up to you, maybe thats just how she got through the night. If she hasnt called you back, sent you im's and emails , or if she has given you lots of excuses, then you know for yourself what to do. I have wasted lots of time trying to persue girls online, and its pretty clear cut who is interested and who is not by how they act.

It was a "perfect storm" of events that ended in the poor kid hanging herself. The "mother" (and that word can be used 2 ways) that was harrassing her on line, should certainly be punished in some way. I mean, if online harrassment was a major crime, there are people here on YA that would end up in jail. But there does have to be SOME taking responsibility for your actions, especially when it ends in a person's death. This woman was reprehensible and certainly shouldn't be raising children of her own.

Like the other posters, I really don't have much sympathy for the girl or her parents. I understand the parent's grief. But I got turned away from all this, when they attempted to lay blame on someone else(the woman). The parents knew this child had emotional problems. They let their guard down for a bit. It was just enough to allow someone else to tamper with her fragile emotional state. Put the blame where it belongs. YES, the woman who did this is pathetic and should be ordered to stay away from children. BUT, what happened could have(and has) occurred anywhere, not just the Internet.
