It was a "perfect storm" of events that ended in the poor kid hanging herself. The "mother" (and that word can be used 2 ways) that was harrassing her on line, should certainly be punished in some way. I mean, if online harrassment was a major crime, there are people here on YA that would end up in jail. But there does have to be SOME taking responsibility for your actions, especially when it ends in a person's death. This woman was reprehensible and certainly shouldn't be raising children of her own.

But you are certainly right. I doubt the girl was acting perfectly normal until she got that final email and walked into her closet and hung herself. There had to be signs. So what were the parents doing and how did they not suspect something was wrong?

I do believe the womans name is Drew that posted the comments. We should all be able to get together and throw rocks at her. Couple kicks to the face also.

That little girl had problems and Drew exploited them.

Like the other posters, I really don't have much sympathy for the girl or her parents. I understand the parent's grief. But I got turned away from all this, when they attempted to lay blame on someone else(the woman). The parents knew this child had emotional problems. They let their guard down for a bit. It was just enough to allow someone else to tamper with her fragile emotional state. Put the blame where it belongs. YES, the woman who did this is pathetic and should be ordered to stay away from children. BUT, what happened could have(and has) occurred anywhere, not just the Internet. Children are taunted and teased(bullied) at school, church, the playground, etc. This sort of thing happens everyday...It's up to us to protect our children, raise them the best we can...from that point, it's out of our hands.

i think there is a bit of blame to lay at many doors

but not myspace

the girls parents should have been more on top of things

you cany be with them 24/7

but they could have done WAY more

and the mother involved? come on, that is not the actions of a caring responsible normal person

its easy to pass the blame

bottom line, a troubled young girl didnt get help that should have been freely available
