You have to be very careful about things like this, she could be very well using you to get a visa to come into the country illegally. If you go there, there could be a chance she'll get some big guys to rob you blind and leave you for dead. I'm sure you think she's genuine, but most con artists seem genuine. If you are not too tied up with work you should go over there. I went to South Africa 3 years ago its beautiful! A lot of people think its not colonized for some strange reason, but it reminded me exactly like America. Except the people over there are so much nicer and there not judgmental. And they do speak English. Or she can always come over here, but for obvious reasons it may be a little bit harder for her to enter this country then for you to enter her country. Has it all been an on-line relationship? Is it her that has sent you pictures? What is your age? Do you know that there are sting operations linked to "My Space"? If this girl is under age in reality and has not shared her real age be very careful. This how the sting operations work. Entice you, lure you in, then bust you if you are an adult. They act like young ladies and try to get you interested, then when the time comes to meet, this is when they nab you. I am not saying this is what is happening, but it is always best to be cautious. "My Space" is notorious for sting opps.

First of all, I do not know your age and if both of you are consenting adults, just let nature take its course. If she really likes and falls in love with you, then I am sure she will be looking forward to being with you. Don't let 'beauty' be the basis of your decision. You may find that it is easier for you to get a visa to visit her than for her to obtain one to visit you. In any case the decision to make a permanent decision will entail immigration procedures which are lengthy and costly for those who chose to be "Legal". (and raise moral and ethical questions for those who chose the illegal route). Although this may sound negative my wife is a Legal permanent resident and the peace of mind in knowing we did it the right and legal way was well worth the effort and expense. I don't think you'll have to do too much to convince her to move to the US. South Africa is probably THE MOST DANGEROUS country in the world. Rape and murder is as common as J-walking in the US.

Everything about that country went down hill after Nelson Mandela took over. I like him as a person, but Mandela and his boy Mbeki (current president) screwed up a really decent country. The reason AIDS is so wide spread is because for years President Mbeki (Mandela's disciple) denied relationship that HIV is the cause of AIDS. The President of South Africa actually told people that HIV and AIDS are unrelated. Don't take my word for it. This is recent history you all can read about.

So anyways, I'm happy you found someone in SA, but take it one step at a time. Fly her over to the US, see how things go, and if it works out well, now you know you won't have to do much to convince her to move over.

The fact is South Africa is a screwed up place to live my friend, and she'll be happy to move to the US.
